Sedgley residents have taken to social media to express their inconvenience after local road in the area has been designated as closed. This is due to a water pipe that has burst in the area.

The affected road is Northway at Wolverhampton Road.

This morning, West Midlands Roads advised travellers that the waterworks will continue until Wednesday (March, 25) and have asked people to plan alternative travel routes.

On a local community group post, one Facebook user Kay Patricia wrote:  "I couldn't believe how much water was spewing out, I'm surprised anyone had any water!"

Another James Gill advised:  "Please can everyone use the other end of Northway in the morning to get to work. People are going both ways through Greenleighs and there have been close calls and arguments. The road isn’t built for that amount of traffic."

Another user, Lizz Legg had said "We had low water pressure this morning".

We have contacted South Staffordshire Water for further details on the matter.
