Royal Artillery to host open day in Wolverhampton this weekend - with chance to sit in vehicles, try on body armour and speak to soldiers
The Royal Artillery is rolling into Wolverhampton this Saturday (21 March) for an action-packed open day.
On Saturday 21 March, 210 Battery in Wolverhampton is opening the gates for a Royal Artillery Experience Day - free for the public to attend.
This is your chance to get hands-on with the equipment used by Royal Artillery soldiers, try on body armour, sit in vehicles and see what Reserve service looks like from the inside.
If you’re curious about joining the British Army and would like to see what modern artillery can do or love military tech this is the perfect opportunity to dive into the world of the Royal Artillery.

Similarly, it will make a great day out.
You’ll be able to get up close to the likes of:
Archer artillery system
L118 Light Gun
Watchkeeper UAV
Eagle drone system
Wolfhound patrol vehicle
You won’t just look at them. You’ll be able to sit in the vehicles, speak to the soldiers who operate them, and ask questions.
The Royal Artillery is currently deployed on exercises in the High North, delivering targeting and firing training in support of UK Commandos, in Estonia as part of the permanent NATO mission Operation Cabrit to deter Russian aggression and protect the NATO eastern flank.
In Kenya it is undertaking jungle warfare training, with our closest ally in the US, collaborating on drone warfare training and many other locations across the world.
The Royal Artillery, known as the Gunners, is the eyes and ears of the battlefield. It finds and strikes the enemy at range – anywhere, anytime - using high-tech surveillance, and uncrewed aircraft (drones) to coordinate mighty Archer guns and agile light guns.
It also uses multi-launch rocket systems and missiles in tandem with the Army’s attack helicopters, fast jets and even the guns of Royal Navy ships.
The event is free, but visitors are urged to register before they visit using this link.
The open event for the public starts at 10am and finishes at 2pm. It is taking place at Wolseley house, Fallings Park, Wolverhampton, WV10 9YF.
