Disruption on major train route between Birmingham and Lichfield after 'signal failure'
There is disruption to rail services between Birmingham and Lichfield train stations tonight (March 19).
West Midlands Railway said the fault occurred between Four Oaks and Lichfield, meaning no trains are currently able to operate between the two stations.
A reduced service is running on the remainder of the line, with two trains per hour operating between Birmingham New Street and Four Oaks.
Replacement bus services have been arranged to run between Four Oaks and Lichfield, as operators work to restore normal services.
Passengers are being advised to check before travelling and allow extra time for their journeys while disruption continues.
A West Midlands Railway spokesperson said: "Signal failure between Four Oaks and Lichfield.
"No services can operate between Four Oaks and Lichfield. A reduced service of 2tph will operate between New St and Four Oaks.
"Buses ordered between Four Oaks and Lichfield."
