Gentlemen songsters sing 'Black Country Anthem' ahead of Black Country Festival performance
Yam Yam choir group, the Gentlemen Songsters, have rehearsed the Black Country Anthem as part of their 'Road to Abbey Road' project ahead of the Black Country Festival.
Loved regional choir, The Gentlemen Songsters, descended on Brierley Hill's Merry Hill Shopping Centre as they took part in a rehearsal performance of the Black Country Anthem ahead of the Black Country Festival in July.
The rehearsals, which will form part of the choir's 'Road to Abbey Road' project, gave shoppers and visitors the chance to get a sneak peek of the Black Country Anthem, months before the festival returns to the region.

Originally adapted from the well-known 1921 patriotic hymn, "I Vow To Thee My Country", by Gustav Holst, the Black Country Anthem was coined by Dudley band, The Empty Can, and officially released in 2014.
As well as performing the anthem at the opening of the loved Festival, the 50-singer strong choir will take the Black Country Anthem to the famous Abbey Road Studios in London on June 15, where they will record and release the single in the famous Studio Two, to help raise money for Prostate Cancer UK.

The Abbey Road Studios are famous for being closely associated with the Beatles, who recorded almost all of their albums, including their three hit albums, there between 1962 and 1970.
The Black Country Festival was established in 2014 as the brainchild of more than a dozen community champions, as a project ot help promote the Black Country's unique and varied history.

The festival is celebrated across the region through the month of July, with thousands of events taking place over the years, and thousands of pounds being raised for charitable causes.
The Black Country Festival is penned to launch of July 1st, and will take place each day up until Januar 31.
