Buses diverted after crash between bus and car on Black Country road

Police enquiries are ongoing after a crash occurred between a bus and a car this morning (Friday 13 March) in Wednesbury.

Buses were diverted away from Woden East Road in Wednesbury this morning due to a collision between a bus and a car.

The crash occurred at 5:15am this morning and West Midlands confirmed that there were no injuries.

NX West Midlands posted on X early this morning that the number 40 service was diverting in both directions via Crankhall Lane, avoiding Woden Road East where the crash happened.

NX West Midlands has since said that the incident has cleared and the number 40 service is running the normal line of route. 

West Midlands Police said in a statement: "We were called to Woden Road East, Wednesbury, just after 5.15am this morning (13 March) to reports of a collision between a bus and a car.

"No one was reported to have been injured and our enquiries are ongoing.

"Anyone with any information, or who witnessed the incident is asked to contact 101 quoting incident number 405 of 13 March."
