'The community spirit in Sedgley last night was immense' - Nightclub boss praises those who rallied to help after fire

The boss of a Sedgley night spot which suffered a fire yesterday (Thursday) has praised the community spirt in the town and the response of fire crews.

Nathan Thaker from District 21, High Street said a fire which broke out at the venue was contained  to the kitchen area of the premises because of the 'swift response and professionalism' of firefighters.

The blaze broke out around 4.45pm and fire crews were there within minutes - staff at the venue were getting ready to open for the day and had to evacuate the building quickly, taking shelter in the Red Lion Pub on the Bull Ring.
