Teenager stabbed to death outside Smethwick mosque named by police
The teenager who was stabbed to death outside of a mosque in Smethwick has been named by police.
Zeshan Afzal, 18, was discovered with serious injuries following disorder in Oldbury Road, Smethwick at just before 9pm yesterday (February 20).
The teenager, from Smethwick, was sadly confirmed dead a short time later. His loved ones are receiving support from West Midlands Police.
Two other men - aged 19 and 22 - were taken to hospital although their injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

In a statement, a spokesperson from West Midlands Police said: "We're carrying out extensive enquires within the area to establish exactly what happened and who was involved.
"We remain keen to hear from anyone with information, or has mobile phone or dashcam footage, which could assist with our investigation.This can be sent directly to us here: Public Portal
"The disorder happened outside a mosque but at this stage there is nothing to suggest this was racially or religiously aggravated.
"We fully understand the incident will have caused distress, and concern, within the community and we will continue to have a visible police presence in the area to provide reassurance.
