Public urged to have their say on the next Bostin’ Black Country businesses from shortlist of 18 who 'have all done amazing things'
A new round of companies and organisations have been shortlisted to become the next Bostin’ Black Country businesses – and for the first time the public can have their say.
Black Country Chamber of Commerce has launched an online vote to whittle 18 possible candidates down to 12, with the process running until February 20.

The list of ‘possibles’ represents the eclectic talents and attractions of the region, with Grand Theatre, Mount Hotel, Thomas Dudley, Pippatopia and Black Country Women’s Aid highlighting the diversity of organisations across Dudley, Sandwell, Walsall and Wolverhampton represented.
Votes from the public will be combined by votes from the Chamber’s Board to arrive at the winners, taking the Bostin’ cohort to 30 companies, tourist attractions, social enterprises and charities.
Sarah Moorhouse, CEO of the Black Country Chamber of Commerce, said: “The reaction to our Bostin’ campaign has been phenomenal and there’s a real demand to be part of it.
“We’ve currently got 18 organisations across our first two cohorts and, after chatting to our board, we decided we’d open it up to the public so the people of the region can have their say on who they want to be in the next inductees.
“The 18 chosen for the vote have all done amazing things to grow, create employment, support local communities and put the Black Country on the tourism map.”
She added that the chosen 18 will be revealed during the first week in March.
Bostin’ Black Country Business has been created with the promise of changing perceptions and increasing economic performance. It aims to champion the most innovative, resilient, creative and globally trading companies and, to date, has received widespread local, national and broadcast coverage – putting the likes of Bowers & Jones, Runflat International, iBiotech and In-Comm Training into the spotlight.
The Chamber plans to add new companies every quarter, with a view to growing a 50-strong alumni-type of community.
