The move recognises an exceptional career spanning nearly four decades with the business which is based in  Credenda Road, West Bromwich, Sandwell.

Mr Powell began his  career with Weatherite in February 1987 as a contracts engineer at Weatherite Manufacturing when telex and fax machines were vital tools, site visits were frequent and the role demanded hands-on delivery, from purchasing components to inspecting completed units.

In 1995, he moved to Weatherite Services to manage major site installation projects.

He was then promoted to contracts manager in 1998, then contracts director in 2000.

In 2014, he became operations director at Weatherite Air Conditioning Ltd, leading multiple departments through a period of transformation and growth.

In his new role as MD, Mark will transition from day-to-day operational oversight to focusing on strategic leadership, growth, and long-term value creation. Key areas of his remit include growing the business and expanding its market base, delivering exceptional customer satisfaction and after-sales care, supporting and developing the wider leadership team and managing the annual budget and overall business performance.

His short-term priorities are set to improve operational efficiency, enhance quality standards, and drive product innovation. Looking ahead, his long-term vision includes expanding into European and international markets, developing new innovative products, and creating skilled job opportunities within the local community.

Tim Whitehouse, group managing director, said: “We have been very fortunate that nearly 40 years ago, a very young Mark decided to join our then small company, beginning what has become a long and exceptional career.

“His depth of experience has provided Weatherite with invaluable guidance over the decades, and I have no doubt he will continue to strengthen the business in his new role.”
