'Extra congestion warning 'around Hawthorns as West Bromwich Albion takes on Norwich City

Road users have been warned of extra congestion around the Hawthorns Stadium as Albion take on Norwich City tonight.

West Midlands Roads has urged road users to plan ahead before travelling due to expected congestion around the Hawthorns Stadium tonight.

It comes as West Bromwich Albion prepare to take on Norwich City at 7.45pm tonight, with Halfords Lane being closed to traffic.

The roads authority warned to expect congestion in the vicinity around the grounds during the times of the match, with traffic also expected on the M5 near Junction 1. 

A West Midlands Roads spokesperson said: "West Bromwich Albion take on Norwich City tonight at the Hawthorns.

"Kick off at 7.45pm tonight. Halfords Lane will be closed to traffic.

"Expect congestion around the ground, especially around M5, Junction 1. Plan ahead and keep moving."
