Major Birmingham cannabis factory shut down as more than 1,000 plants seized

More than 1,000 cannabis plants have been seized as police shut we down a drugs factory in Birmingham.

Officers carried out a warrant at an address on Proctor Street, Nechells early this morning (Monday).

After forcing their way inside, they found and recovered more than 1,000 cannabis plants, with an estimated street value of hundreds of thousands of pounds.

The plants have been seized and will be destroyed.

No one was in the property at the time, and enquiries are being carried out as the investigation continues.
