Chris Ikouara, aged 19, was found seriously injured after reports of a stabbing at an address on Olton Boulevard East, Acocks Green,  shortly before 2pm on Tuesday.

Despite the efforts of the West Midlands Ambulance Service medical teams, he was pronounced dead at the scene.

Family tributes were paid to Mr Ikouara in the wake of his death and a fundraising page has now been set up by his sister Jennifer.

They are looking to raise £20,000 and have so far had 33 donations totalling £1,330.

Jennifer wrote on the page: "He was more than what happened to him, he was a son, an uncle, a friend, and someone deeply loved. His life was taken far too soon, and our world has been turned upside down since the stabbing happened on Tuesday

"We are asking for support to help cover funeral and memorial expenses, as well as to help our family stay afloat during this incredibly painful time.

"Any funds raised will go directly toward honouring his life and easing the financial burden we are facing as we grieve.

"If you’re unable to donate, please consider sharing this page or keeping our family in your thoughts and prayers. Every bit of support means more than we can express.

Detectives are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding Mr Ikouara's death, while a scene still remains in place around the address.

Detective Superintendent Jim Munro, from the force's homicide team, said: "Specialist officers have been working through the night and following several lines of enquiry as we work to find who was involved.

“Our thoughts remain with Chris’s family, friends, and loved ones, and we are continuing to offer them our full support.

“We are now appealing for the public’s help with our investigation, and I would urge anyone with information – no matter how small it may seem – to please contact us immediately.

“We understand the concern this has caused in the local community, and local officers are there for you, carrying out reassurance patrols and ready to listen to any concerns you may have."

Anyone with information relating to the incident is asked to contact West Midlands Police via their 101 number, or alternatively on the live chat service on the force's website, quoting reference 2771 of 13 January.
