Investigation launched into cause of Stafford vape shop fire

Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service have confirmed they will investigate after a blaze which closed a road in Stafford town centre for most of yesterday (Tuesday afternoon).

Crews were called to Cloud Town vape shop, Gaolgate Street at around 1.25pm after reports of a fire.

They spent much of the afternoon and early evening dealing with the fire - an adjacent public house was evacuated and closed.

A spokesman for Staffordshire Fire and Rescue said: "We were called at 1.25pm yesterday (Tuesday 13 January) to a business on Gaolgate Street following reports of a fire.

"Seven appliances and the aerial ladder platform (ALP) attended the scene and found a fire on the ground, first and second floors.

"Crews used one main jet and two hose reel jets to extinguish the fire and nobody was reported injured.

"An investigation into the cause of the fire will take place in due course."
