Firefighters, ambulance and police rush to fire in tall building in Hamstead
A fire has broken out in a tall building in Hamstead and emergency services including ambulance personnel are in attendance.
Seven West Midlands Fire Service crews were sent to battle the blaze in a block of flats in Hamstead, near Great Barr, soon after 6am. The service said the fire is believed to be on the ninth floor of a building.
Police and paramedics were sent too but thankfully no injuries were reported.
A statement on social media said: "Fire service currently in attendance at a tall building fire in Hamstead, Birmingham.
"This is a seven-pump fire. Police and ambulance are also in attendance.
"Fire believed to be on the ninth floor."
The emergency services have been approached for further information.
A spokesperson for the West Midlands Ambulance Service said: "We were called to reports of a flat fire on Coniston Crescent, Great Barr, Birmingham at 6.24am this morning.
"A critical care paramedic, two paramedic officers, HART paramedics and an ambulance responded. Thankfully there were no injuries."
