The meeting was scheduled to be held at 6pm today; however, the council have reported that due to the adverse weather brought by Storm Goretti, the meeting will instead be moved to 6pm on January 15.
A council spokesperson said: "Due to the severe weather conditions currently being experienced, it has been decided that there are exceptional circumstances and the meeting of the Economic Prosperity Scrutiny Committee, scheduled to take place on January 7, will be postponed.
"In consultation with the Chair, the meeting has been rescheduled and will not take place on Thursday, January 15 at 6pm. This is to ensure the safety of all those who were due to attend the meeting."
It comes following the council's announcement on December 4, 2025, that the theatre would be included in regeneration plans for demolition.
The theatre closed its doors in February last year, with the council voting against a community transfer bid in September, 2025.
