Snowy and wintry conditions to continue in West Midlands as drivers are warned of 'challenging conditions' in the next few days

Travellers have again been urged to plan ahead again as snow and ice warnings prompt travel disruption in the West Midlands this morning (Tuesday).

Although no roads across the region have been closed due to the icy and snowy conditions, temperatures were expected to fall below freezing on Monday with a widespread and severe frost forming.

The Met Office forecast for the West Midlands says the minimum temperature was expected to be -8 degrees and Tuesday is due to start very cold with another severe frost and a maximum temperature of four degrees.

They are warning of travel disruption being possible until Thursday at least, with the forecast after today saying: " Largely dry to start Wednesday but turning unsettled thereafter. Periods of heavy rain, and perhaps hill snow, possibly bringing some travel disruption at times. Turning windier with gales possible later. "
