Hasan, of Gowan Road, was sentenced to three years and two months.

A 17-year-old, who cannot be named because of his age, was sentenced to four years and 10 months.

Idris Urfan, aged 22, of Monk Road, was also arrested as part of the investigation and was sentenced to one year for assisting an offender.

Detective Inspector Francis Nock, from the MCU, said: "This was a shocking, violent attack.

"Our team worked extensively on the case to identify the suspects and bring them into custody, and finally, before the courts.

“We want to send out a clear message that we won’t tolerate people who use weapons on our streets and demonstrate violence, such as we have seen in this case.

“If you behave in this manner, we will arrest and charge you and bring you before the courts, and the sentences handed out here show how seriously it will be taken."
