Wolverhampton and Walsall paramedics and ambulance staff helped to give back to their local community by raising nearly £800 which went towards a collection of gifts, biscuits and chocolates which were delivered to the Children’s Ward at New Cross Hospital.

PTS Driver, Brad Thomas said: “We hope we have made some children's Christmas a bit more magical and the staff working on the ward can enjoy treats while they work throughout the season.

"Thank you to everyone who helped to make this possible."

WMAS tweeted: "A huge thank you to all of our staff across the organisation who have given up time with their families today to help us respond to patients across the community.

"Despite having to spend Christmas Day away from friends and loved ones, it was great to see the festive spirit was still alive at sites across the region."
