They took part in the golf day at The Mount, and raised £1,400 for the Wolverhampton based JW Hunt Cup charity.

The charity runs an annual football cup competition and raises money year round for the Sedgley based Beacon Vision.

Next year is the centenary of the charity and it is hoped a figure of £500,000 raised will be reached in total over the 100 years.

The golf day was sponsored by Levier Ltd, Pinnacle Ltd and Blanc and there was a generous donation made on the day by Lloyds Bank.

Secretary of the golf day Alan Ryder and his son Danny organise the competition which started in June last year and has raised £3,000 for the charity collectively.

Alan thanked everyone who had supported it again and said: "The day brings together enthusiastic golfers and is supported by various clubs such as South Staffs, Lilleshall,  and The Mount but always provides healthy competition, a lot of fun and the chance to meet up with friends.

"But the most important thing is the money we raise for the JW Hunt Cup which is a great charity which is pushing on towards the £500,00 mark in money raised so I would like to thank the sponsors, Neil Barnfield from Moor Hall Golf Club for the four ball auctions and everyone who turned out to support the day."
