Three men jailed after pedestrians injured in Birmingham hit-and-run
Three men have been sentenced over an incident in Handsworth where three pedestrians were injured.
Kaiden Lemathy, Ismail Khan, and Mohammed Najeeb were charged following extensive enquiries by West Midlands Police's Major Crime Team, and were jailed at Birmingham Crown Court last Monday.
The force launched their investigation after a Nissan Qashqai, driving at speed, mounted the pavement on Burton Wood Drive in Handsworth Wood, on July 27 last year.

The car struck two teenagers and a woman in her 20s, leaving them all in the hospital.
Thankfully, their injuries were not life-threatening, and they are recovering.
The Nissan left the scene, and detectives began urgent enquiries to track it down and find those responsible.

The vehicle was found dumped nearby; however, using a range of tactics, including a trawl of CCTV, officers were able to identify Lemathy, Khan and Najeed as the three men who had been in the car at the time.
CCTV and other enquiries continued following the arrest, with investigators being able to confirm that Lemathy had been behind the wheel.
He went on to admit causing grievous bodily harm with intent, three counts of attempting to cause grievous bodily harm with intent, and dangerous driving.

The 18-year-old, also of Holte Road, was sentenced to seven years in prison and disqualified from driving for 15 years.
Kaiden was sentenced to a further two years in prison for possession with intent to supply Class-A drugs and possession of a firearm for a separate investigation.
Najeeb, aged 19, was admitted attempting to cause GBH with intent, and was sentenced to two years and nine months.
Khan, aged 21, also admitted attempting to cause GBH with intent and was sentenced to four years.

Despite pleading guilty, the three refused to tell police why they did what they did, and despite detectives suspecting this was a targeted attack against the victims.
Major crime detective sergeant Rosie Farnworth said: "Hours of work from a dedicated team of officers went into this investigation.
"The injuries of those involved could have been more serious, all because of the dangerous actions of the three.
"Throughout the investigation, our focus has been on securing justice for them, and we are pleased that the three involved are now behind bars."
