Sandwell police sergeant wins national award for work with vulnerable man
A police sergeant in Sandwell has been recognised for his work with a vulnerable elderly man with a national safeguarding award.
Sergeant David Eeles, from the West Midlands Police Wednesbury Neighbourhood Team, has won a national Safeguarding Adults Board Award.
He was handed the award for his work with a vulnerable man in the community who was a victim of financial abuse and exploitation.

Mr Eeles worked hard to gain the victim's trust and get him the right support to help with his vulnerabilities.
The force was then able to arrest the offender on suspicion of fraud, and his bail conditions included not to contact the victim or his address.
Sergeant Eeles then went on to work with a number of agencies to further safeguard the victim, and through Sandwell Council, secured a place for him in a residential respite home.
His commitment to helping the victim was recognised and awarded by the Safeguarding Adults Board.
Chief Inspector Richard Boulter from Sandwell Police said: "Sergeant Eeles has done a fantastic job in helping secure the correct long-term support for a victim.
"He prevented further contact from the suspect and found a permanent safe place for the victim to reside.
"I'm glad his work has been nationally recognised, and his award is very well deserved."
