West Midlands Police says, while searching the house, one of their drug-detecting dogs, PD Lucky, sniffed out a large quantity of drugs hidden inside a printer, as well as tucked away elsewhere in the same room.

Patel was arrested and charged with possession with intent to supply Class A drugs. He pleaded guilty at Birmingham Crown Court on December 8. The 39-year-old was sentenced to 38 months in prison.

PC George Anstey, from Birmingham Local Policing Area's Serious Organised Crime and Exploitation team (SOCEX), said: "Inside the house we found approximately £16,000 worth of crack cocaine and heroin.

"The defendant has been given a custodial sentence, where he can hopefully reflect on his poor life choices.

"Behind most street drugs there is a trail of misery and exploitation, which ruins the lives of incredibly vulnerable people.

"Drug dealing will not be tolerated in our community and the SOCEX teams across the West Midlands will continue to take action against it wherever we find it."
