Three people remain in cells as police investigate Wolverhampton vehicle thefts

Three people have been arrested as part of a police investigation into vehicle thefts across Wolverhampton.

West Midlands Police have said that two men and a woman remain in cells following early morning arrests across Wolverhampton.

It comes as police pounced on a number of addresses early this morning as they crack down on vehicle theft crime across the borough.

Detectives from Wolverhampton Police joined forces with the Priority Crime Team and the Gangs Unit to carry out arrests, which all took place in the Low Hill and All Saints areas.

Following searches at the addresses, multiple electronic devices were also seized.

The two men, aged 24 and 28, and the woman, aged 45, were arrested on suspicion of conspiring to commit theft of motor vehicles, and remain in cells this afternoon. 

A force spokesperson said: "Three people are in our cells today after officers made arrests at a number of addresses early this morning in an investigation into vehicle thefts across Wolverhampton.

Detectives from Wolverhampton joined forces with the Priority Crime Team and Gangs Unit to carry out the arrests at addresses in the Low Hill and All Saints areas.

"Following searches at the addresses, multiple electronic devices have been recovered.

"Two men, aged 24 and 28, along with a woman aged 45, arrested on suspicion of conspiring to commit theft of motor vehicles, remain in custody this afternoon as enquiries continue and our investigation remains ongoing."
