It will depart from outside the Coach and Horses, Wheaton Aston at 9.30am and return from Crown Bridge, Penkridge at 12.25pm. The service won’t run on Saturday 27 December.

County councillor Chris Large who represents Brewood ward, has worked with the transport team to get the service off the ground.

He said: "It’s fantastic to get this service running ahead of Christmas on the connecting the two villages on market days in Penkridge.

"We’ve listened to what residents’ transport needs and so are pleased to put this service in place. I’d urge as many people as possible to make use of the service during the trial period.”

Andrew Mynors, Staffordshire County Council’s cabinet member for connectivity, said: "Good bus services, particularly in our rural areas, are vital to connect communities and ensure residents can access the facilities and services they need. It’s a great time to run this trial which we hope people make use of until the spring.”

A decision will be made on the service after the trial period as concluded.
