Oldbury Christmas light switch-on event cancelled due to weather conditions
Oldbury Christmas Light Switch-On has been cancelled due to strong winds and heavy rain.
Organisers have issued an apology for cancelling the event which was set to take place tonight (December 5) at 6pm.
A spokesperson for Sandwell Council said: "Due to the high winds and heavy rain, we have made the decision to cancel today’s Oldbury Christmas Light Switch-On.
"We know this is disappointing news but our top priority must be to keep everyone safe. We apologise for any inconvenience and thank you for understanding."

It comes as the Met Office forecast predicts a wet and windy emails - with "heavy downpours of rain possible."
The full forecast for tonight states: "Remaining wet and windy this evening as a rain band continues to push northeastwards overnight, with heavy downpours of rain possible.
"Drier interludes emerging later as winds ease, though still some showery outbreaks at times. A milder night than previous. Minimum temperature 5 °C."
