Engineering firm - with locations in Birmingham - to see staff be balloted for strikes in pay dispute

Workers at engineering giant Amey are to be balloted for strikes in a dispute over pay.

The Transport Salaried Staffs Association (TSSA) said hundreds of its members will vote in the coming weeks on whether to launch a campaign of industrial action.

TSSA members employed by Amey across Scotland, Wales, the North East, the West Midlands, London and all southern regions will be asked to support strikes in the ballot which opens on Wednesday and closes on December 15.

TSSA general secretary Maryam Eslamdoust, said: “This ballot is about securing a fair pay deal for our members.

“TSSA members, who are highly skilled, work hard to maintain a safe railway. They deserve a fair deal that takes into account inflation and the rising cost of living.”
