Lane remains closed following 'serious' M54 crash near Wolverhampton
One lane of the M54 remains closed following a serious crash.
National Highways West Midlands has warned that lane 2 of 2 on the M54, near Junction 2 for Wolverhampton and Junction 3 for Albrighton, remains closed following a crash on Tuesday night.
It comes following a 'serious' crash on the stretch of motorway involving 'multiple vehicles' at around 11.49pm on Tuesday night, resulting in four people being assessed by ambulance personnel.

Following the crash, two men were given treatment for non-serious injuries and were taken to New Cross Hospital for further checks, while two others were discharged from the scene.
The crash also resulted in 'extensive damage' to a barrier on the road, leading to the closure of a number of lanes.
Now, National Highways West Midlands have said that lane 2 of 2 will remain closed throughout the night while repairs take place.

A highways spokesperson said: "Lane 2 of 2 remains closed in both directions on the M54 Junction 2, Wolverhampton, and Junction 3, Albrighton, due to extensive barrier damage following an earlier crash.
"Specialist crews will be working throughout the night to complete repairs. Delays of 30 minutes remain in the area."
Staffordshire Police reported that the crash took place between a Renault truck and a Citroen Berlingo, with officers attending to manage traffic while the vehicle was removed.
A force spokesperson said: "We were called at 11.40pm last night (Tuesday, November 25) to reports of a collision on the M54 westbound between junctions 2 and 3.
"The collision involved a Renault Captur, a Renault truck and a Citroen Berlingo van.
"Officers attended, and the road was closed whilst recovery of the vehicles took place. An ambulance attended."
Staffordshire Police have been approached for further information.
