Temporary week long road closure as Wolverhampton water works get underway

A road in Wolverhampton is due to close as crucial waterworks are completed.

Wolverhampton Council has warned of a temporary week-long road closure to make way for emergency Severn Trent Water works. 

The council has warned that until Monday, December 1, Mount Road will be closed in both directions, with diversions being put into place.

Traffic will now follow Mill Lane, School Road, and vice versa. 

The council added that another road, Church Street, will also be closed to traffic until November 26, again to make way for emergency Severn Trent Water works. 

The road will be closed between Graiseley Lane and High Street, with diversions in place.

Traffic will now follow Graiseley Lane, Wolverhampton Road, Rookery Street and High Street. 

A council spokesperson said: "Severn Trent Water emergency works mean a temporary road closure on Mount Road, near Fairoak Drive junction, expected until Monday, December 1. 

"Diversion route: Mill Lane, School Road and vice versa."
