Man arrested over fatal Wolverhampton shooting which killed two men

A man has been arrested on suspicion of the murders of two men who died after a shooting in Wolverhampton

West Midlands Police has arrested a murder suspect following the fatal shooting of two men in Wolverhampton.

Duaine Mills, aged 28, and Syed Zain Ali, 32, died after the shooting in Leicester Street at around 3.10am on 19 September.

Today, police have announced that they have arrested a 38-year-old man in the Birmingham area just after 10am this morning on suspicion of their murders.

A man aged 34 was arrested at the same time on suspicion of assisting an offender.

Both remain in custody this afternoon.

Senior investigating officer Jenny Birch said: “These arrests are a significant development in our investigation, and the families of Duane and Syed have been updated.

“Our thoughts remain with them at this time, and we will continue to support them.”
