Priced at just £1 this house in Birmingham is among the cheapest properties ever sold in the city.
And it’s going up for auction on Wednesday, December 10 and expected to attract plenty of attention.
It was built before the Second World War home and is currently unoccupied - and is in need of a complete refurbishment.
The two-bedroomed, semi-detached house at 7 Mossvale Grove in Saltley, will appear in the livestreamed Bond Wolfe auction.
Gurpreet Bassi, chief executive of Bond Wolfe, explained that the vacant leasehold property had more than ten years unexpired on its 99-year which began in March 1937.
Mr Bassis said: “We rarely market properties with a guide price of this nature; however, it accurately reflects the level of work required to bring the home to its full potential.
“Despite these factors, our experience is that there is a strong market for such properties, as with investment this could make a good return, for example with a landlord wanting to expand their portfolio.
“With that in mind, we are expecting competitive bidding for this property at our auction.”
7 Mossvale Grove stands back from the road behind a front garden, with an outbuilding and shed in the back garden.
Inside, there is a porch, hall, reception room, kitchen and shower room with toilet downstairs, and a landing, two bedrooms, a box room and a bathroom upstairs.
Mr Bassi added that viewings will be carried out on a block viewing basis, with times and dates available from Thursday 20 November, and that offers in excess of the guide price may be considered prior to the auction.
The Birmingham property will be among scores of lots appearing in Bond Wolfe’s next auction which is due to start at 8.30am on Wednesday 10 December.
The auction will be livestreamed via Bond Wolfe’s website with remote bidding by proxy, telephone or internet.
