Police probe launched after woman left needing surgery following Birmingham dog attack

Police are appealing after a woman was left needing surgery after being bitten by a dog in Birmingham.

West Midlands Police have appealed for information after a woman was bitten by a dog in the Pershore Road area of Birmingham last month.

On October 14, at around 8.30am, a woman was walking along Pershore Road when she was attacked by a dog.

West Midlands Police have now released a CCTV image of a man they wish to talk to in connection with the incident, asking anyone who recognises him to contact the force directly via their 101 number. 

A West Midlands Police spokesperson said: "We’re appealing for information after a member of the public was bitten by a dog in Birmingham.

"On 14 October at around 8.30am, a woman was walking along Pershore Road when she was bitten by a dog.

"The woman needed surgery and continues to recover from her injuries. We want to speak to this man in connection with the incident.

"If you recognise him or have any information, please call 101 quoting crime reference 20/409061/25. 

"Information can also be emailed to dangerous_dogs@westmidlands.police.uk."
