Burning food to blame for house fire in Rugeley
Burning food was to blame for a house fire in Rugeley prompting appeals to residents to take care while cooking.
Crews were called to a house in Lion Street in Rugeley shortly after 9pm on November 8 following reports of a house fire.
Three appliances attended the scene and used a hose reel jet to put out the fire in the kitchen.

An unnamed man in his 50s was treated at the scene by West Midlands Ambulance Service paramedics for the effects of smoke inhalation.
The fire was later deemed to have been caused accidentally by burning food on a cooker.
Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service watch manager Wesley Southall attended the scene and said: “Around 50 per cent of the fires that we attend are caused by cooking and distraction is the main cause of these fires.
“I would like to remind people to always ‘look when you cook’ and take pans off the heat if you need to leave the room.”
