Police issue CCTV appeal over van in connection with death of woman in Oldbury

Police are continuing to appeal for new information after a woman was found dead in Oldbury.

West Midlands Police have issued a new probe into the death of 19-year-old Lily Whitehouse, who they believe was hit by a vehicle on Oldpark Lane, Oldbury, on Wednesday, November 5. 

Emergency services teams were called just before 9.50pm to Park Street in Oldbury, where Lily was found with serious injuries.

Despite the best efforts of emergency medical teams, there was nothing that could be done to save the woman, and she was pronounced dead at the scene. 

A 41-year-old man was arrested and charged with murder following the death, with the force saying that he has been remanded into custody to appear before Wolverhampton Crown Court in December.

West Midlands Police have now issued a CCTV image of a van they believe to be involved in the incident, asking anyone with information relating to the vehicle to get in contact with them. 

A force spokesperson said: "Do you have any information about this van pictured below?

"Did you see it in the vicinity of Old Park Lane between 9.20pm and 9.45pm on Wednesday evening?

"We would like anyone with any dashcam footage or information about the van, or from around the specified times, to get in touch with us."

Anyone with information relating to the van picture, or the incident in general, is asked to contact West Midlands Police via their 101 number, or alternatively via the Live Chat service on their website, quoting reference number 5978 of 5 November.
