The biggest stars in the sport are on the oche from today with every match at the Aldersley leisure village a mouthwatering battle between 32 of the best players in the world.

The lucky fans at the Mr Vegas Grand Slam of Darts have already made a Herculean effort to get their hands on tickets for the event, which could have sold out five times over.

The energy, chants, signs and fancy dress at the start of the event proved that Wolverhampton remains bonkers about darts, which is why the event keeps returning.

In recent weeks WV Active Aldersley has been transformed into the perfect venue for nail-biting darts drama.

If and when the event could be held at the revamped Halls remains to be seen - but the fans downing the pints in Aldersley would not care.
