The machine which was due to be used for cycle path laying work, was parked up at the side of the road in Rose Hill between Longacres and Rose Hill Gardens in Willenhall when it was struck by a red VW Tiguan shortly after 9am on Wednesday(5).

Eyewitnesses said the car being driven by a man, who has not been named, was being driven along the temporary one-way system towards the railway bridge, when it veered to the right and struck the cream- coloured barriers surrounding the machine before mounting a pallet covered with kerb stones then coming to rest on the machine's tracks.
