Man charged with murder of 76-year-old man attacked near Birmingham train station
A 30-year-old man has been charged with the murder of a pensioner who was attacked near a train station in Birmingham on Thursday night (October 23).
Police were called to Birchfield Road, Perry Barr at around 9.50pm on Thursday night (October 23) by paramedics after a man named Alvin Callum was found in serious condition.
Despite the efforts of emergency services, the 76-year-old died following an assault.
Omajuwa Scarlett, aged 30, was arrested on Friday night and was charged with murder on Saturday night (October 25).
He was remanded in custody to appear before Birmingham magistrates tomorrow morning.
A spokesperson for West Midlands Police said: "We are supporting Mr Callum's family, and our investigation continues.
"We are still asking for anyone with CCTV, dashcam, or mobile phone footage from the area at the time to get in touch, quoting log 5365 of 23 October."
