Liam McAlinden from Rushall Olympic visited Rushall Primary School to give year six students a coaching session  while sharing experiences from his time playing for Olympic, Wolves and Wrexham.

The Cannock-born 32-year-old then had a kick around with year five pupils before handing out free tickets to an upcoming game at Dales Lane.

McAlinden recently  scored the opening goal against Cleethorpes Town as they picked up their first win since August.

After the session he said: "It’s been great to spend the morning with the pupils.

"Coaching children is something I’ve got used to doing now, it’s what I do on a daily basis and hopefully they learned some new stuff..

“We had a really fun morning and I think the children enjoyed it, so it was really rewarding."

Olympic's operation manager Finley Deeley-Brewer also visited the school and said it was crucial for them to get a good connection within the community.

He said: "The only way our club is going to be able to survive and grow is ensuring we are a force for good in our community.

" We want to make sure we are a beacon not just for Rushall but for elsewhere.

"Hopefully with our Halloween and firework night coming up in a week’s time we’ll see a lot of the community come out to enjoy what will be a great night for all the family.”

The event takes place on Friday October 31 at Dales Lane with gates open at 5.30pm
