Murder investigation launched after man shot dead in Wolverhampton

Police have launched a murder investigation after a man was shot dead in Wolverhampton in the early hours of this morning (Saturday).

They were called to Lilleshall Crescent, in the Graiseley area of the city, at around 12.15am, to reports of a shooting.

The man, aged 30, was pronounced dead a short time later.

The three killings happened in just over a month, with Wolverhampton residents saying they hardly 'get a chance to breathe'

West Midlands Police officers remain at the scene today to speak to  witnesses and gather CCTV, and a dedicated website has been set up where the public can send dashcam, mobile phone footage, or any other information directly to  investigators.

Chief Inspector Richard Evans, of Wolverhampton Police, said: "Our thoughts are with the victim’s family today, and they will be getting all the support we can give them

"We know  this will cause real concern and anxiety for people living nearby, and we will have extra officers in the area to offer reassurance and listen to their concerns."
