Inside a 'quaint and bijou' lockside building and former toll house in Stourport which could be yours for £14,000
A former toll house on the banks of the historic Staffordshire and Worcester canal in Stourport is up for auction
Described as 'quaint and bijou,' The Toll House, on York Street, is being offered for sale by leading Wales property auction house, Paul Fosh Auctions at a guide price of just £14,000.
Auctioneer Angie Davey said: “This one-of-kind former toll house really is lost in time. It almost looks as if the former lock keeper has left for the day and just taken his books and cash register and left the rest as is. The word bijou could have been coined to describe it.

"“It is a cute chocolate box mini cottage, right on the banks of the canal and overlooking lock gate paddle sluice gates, which could offer potential as an investment.

“It is fairly basic, it doesn’t have a kitchen, bathroom or even toilet but nevertheless some enterprising person may want the pocket-sized property for use as an ar, writer's or musician’s studio, a hobby from home location or even as a man shed.

"Or a potential new owner might want to use it as a lock up and leave property."
The former toll house has a tea-room right next door which could be ideal for the new occupant when they need a break.
Angie continued: "The award-winning historic Georgian canal basins in Stourport which are home to nearly 100 narrowboats and river crafts, are a popular destination to residents and tourists alike.
"There is much for the family to see and do in Stourport. The bustling town includes independent shops, tea rooms and restaurants so it is a popular location."
The next Paul Fosh Auctions, when this former canal toll house will be offered for sale, starts at 12 noon on Tuesday, November 11 and ends from 5pm on Thursday November 13
