Bilston drug dealer caught with crack, heroin and a loaded pistol jailed for seven years despite blaming notorious Fire Town gang
A Bilston drug dealer who was caught with crack, heroin and a loaded pistol has been jailed for seven years.
Dalton Bowen, 21, was slouching in the passenger seat of a minibus outside his Boswell Road home when police spotted him on October 25, last year.
After a failed attempt at fleeing Bowen was arrested. When he was searched officers found 21 wraps of crack cocaine, 34 wraps of heroin, £80 cash and two mobile phones.
However, when officers noticed a Louis Vuitton bag under his jacket they found a black loaded pistol and ammunition.
After a three day trial at Wolverhampton Crown Court in July Bowen was found guilty of possessing a fire arm, possessing ammunition, possessing crack cocaine with intent to supply, possessing heroin with intent to supply and possessing a firearm when prohibited for life.
Bowen unsuccessfully argued he had been forced to deal drugs after being beaten by the notorious Fire Town gang which were formed over ten years ago in Whitmore Reans and Heath Town. The gang has been involved in several shootings in Wolverhampton as they strengthened their grip on the Class A drugs market. However, the jury saw through his story about being beaten and then given a gun by Fire Town gangsters.

He was sentenced at Wolverhampton Crown Court yesterday (Thursday) by Judge Deni Mathews KC.
