'Rescuing a baby from a car and a taking in a dumped kitten' as part of 'busy week' for Wolverhampton police team
The police teams that patrol Wolverhampton have said they have tackled drugs, speeding drivers, as well as rescuing a baby from a car and took in a dumped kitten, all part of a "busy week" in the city.
West Midlands Police said their Wolverhampton teams week or so saw officers from Wednesfield & Heath Town Police flagged down during one of their regular patrols at Bentley Bridge after a baby had accidently got locked inside a parked car.
"With the keys mistakenly dropped inside the vehicle officers got lots of support form the public and security staff at the centre and managed to get the car opened safely, and thankfully the baby was absolutely fine," said a spokesperson adding that it was just one a number of unusual incidents.

The spokesperson continued: "The City Centre Police team got a bit more than they bargained during one of their patrols when they came across a kitten which had been left in a bag in School Street. They collected him up and after contacting the RSPCA te little fella is now getting the proper care he needs
"Over in Whitmore Reans, St Peter's, Park and Graiseley Police conducted an eviction alongside Midland Heart on Chester Street, for a breach of tenancy. It came after a recent warrant and a revisit in order for the locks to be changed. It's all a step in the right direction to making our streets safer as part of Op Otternova.
"Tettenhall, Penn & Merry Hill neighbourhood officers and PCSOs carried out a drugs warrant at a premises in the Palmers Cross area of Aldersley with the growing set-up and being dismantled and the plants being seized and destroyed.
"The Oxley team conducted a speed operation on the Droveway in Pendeford with 70 vehicles passing by and 15 being found to be speeding. Of the 60 cars monitored on Oxley Moor Road, four were speeding. The drivers were pulled over and spoken to and letters are also being sent out.
"Wednesfield & Heath Town Police are continuing patrols on grassland area between Rogers Close and Kitchen Lane, Ashmore Park after reports of off-road bikes and are working with colleagues from WMP Traffic as they keep up the pressure on keeping the anti-social nuisance at bay.
"Foot patrols by the Bilston & East Park Police team have resulted in the seizure of two vehicles, one for being on false plates and another for failing to have been taxed.
"The teams are also keeping an eye on inconsiderate and dangerous parking including patrols by Ettingshall, Blakenhall & Spring Vale Police near Manor Primary School in Spring Vale, with officers addressing parking concerns, and having a chat with parents about the safest places to park."
