Brierley Hill care home fraud case delayed after former manager goes AWOL from the dock again
The trial of the former Brierley Hill care home manager accused of fiddling the will of a dying resident has been delayed after she has gone AWOL again.
Jamiel Slaney-Summers was previously the subject of a warrant after failing to take her place in the dock at Wolverhampton Crown Court.
The 65-year-old was absent from the start of her fraud and theft trial after securing a doctor's note. However, when the note ran out and she informed her solicitor she 'would not be making it in' by Whatapp message Judge John Butterfield KC ensured she was brought into the dock after being held in the court cells in handcuffs.
Last week Slaney-Summers was in court to hear evidence accusing her of abusing her position at Amberley Care Home by changing the will of a resident and stealing £6,000 from the same woman.

However, yesterday (Monday) after another no-show by the defendant Judge John Butterfield KC was forced to send the jury and Slaney-Summers co-defendants, Lyn and Graham Walker, home for the day.
