Jury hears former Brierley Hill care home manager 'removed black bags full of paperwork every day after Rita died'
The former Brierley Hill care home manager accused of abusing her position was caught on CCTV removing black bags full of financial paperwork in the wake of the death of the resident whose bank account she is accused of plundering.
The trial of the owners and former manager of Amberley Care Home, Brierley Hill, has reached its midway point at Wolverhampton Crown Court.
Former manager Jamiel Slaney-Summers, 65, is accused of of theft, stealing £6,000 from resident Rita Barnsley, and abusing her position for financial gain after the 85-year-old's will was allegedly changed in favour of her and the home's owners.
Graham Walker, aged 74, and Lyn Walker, aged 71, both of Ribbesford Close, Cradley, also in the dock accused of dishonestly abusing their position to make financial gain.
Prosecuting on behalf of Dudley Council Mark Jackson read out a transcript of a police interview with owner Lyn Walker in the wake of Rita's death.
She revealed the home's CCTV camera system had caught Slaney-Summers taking several black bags from the home and putting them in the back of her car before leaving after her shifts.
