Police are supporting the family of a man who died in Birmingham following a serious assault
A man aged 33 has died following a serious assault in Birmingham.
West Midlands Police said the incident happened at Lower Tower Street in Aston shortly before 12.30pm on Friday, September 26 - he died three days later on the evening on Monday, September 29.
The man who died was found with serious injuries at ‘an address’ on the road. Reports claim he was attacked at a nightclub in the area.
Two men have since been charged with grievous bodily harm with intent.
They are Simon Gerbrengus, aged 43, from Erdington, and Bibi Gilzgi, aged 30, of no fixed address.
Both men appeared at Birmingham Magistrates’ Court on the morning of Monday, September 29 and have been remanded in custody to next appear at Birmingham Crown court on 27 October.
A further 29-year-old man has also been arrested on suspicion of perverting the course of justice.
His family are being supported by specially trained officers as our enquiries into what happened continue.
