Police officer taken to hospital after Brierley Hill rush hour crash

A police officer was injured when a patrol car was involved in a collision with another vehicle in Brierley Hill

Police were responding to an incident on blue lights at around 5pm last night (Friday) on Pedmore Road at its junction with Hurst Lane.

The road was closed for over an hour, with fire crews from Brierley Hill, Haden Cross and Dudley also attended the scene.

The officer driving  the vehicle was taken to hospital for treatment for a head injury.

A second officer in the vehicle was unhurt while the driver of the other vehicle was assessed at the scene by paramedics but didn’t need to go to hospital.

A West Midlands Police spokesman said; "Our Professional Standards Department (PSD) has been informed as is normal procedure in such circumstances."
