Nigel Farage's party has targeted the Black Country as a bell weather region for the entire country ahead of the next General Election.

Reform UK’s West Midlands Director Pete Durnell told the Express & Star: "I’m pleased to announce that we’ve boosted our Black Country team to cater for the incredible momentum behind Reform UK, as we consistently top every national opinion poll.

"We will be aiming to take control of council’s right across the West Midlands region in 2026, just as we did in the county council elections held earlier this year."

Former leader of the Sandwell Conservatives Ray Nock joined Reform UK during its inception in 2019 and immediately set about building its membership and enlisting future candidates.
