Man, 41, arrested on suspicion of murder after woman found dead in Wolverhampton

A man has been arrested on suspicion of murder following the death of a woman in Wolverhampton.

West Midlands Police have arrested a 41-year-old man after a woman was found dead in Finchfield Road, Wolverhampton, on Monday night.

Emergency services responded to the scene at around 8.20pm, where they discovered a woman, aged in her 30s, with serious injuries.

Sadly, the woman was confirmed dead at the scene.

Now, a 41-year-old man, who is understood to be known to the woman, has been arrested on suspicion of murder.

A West Midlands Police spokesperson said: "We discovered a woman in her 30s with serious injuries at an address on Finchfield Road at around 8.20pm. 

"Tragically, she was confirmed dead at the scene, and our thoughts are with her loved ones at this devastating time."

Police are continuing to carry out enquiries in the area.  

The spokesperson added: "A scene remains in place while we carry out enquiries to help us establish the full circumstances around what happened, and extra officers will be in the area throughout the day.

"We’re not looking for anyone else as part of the investigation."
