Police are continuing to investigate the scene following a fatal carbon monoxide incident that left a man in his 50s dead.

The community of Cresswell Crescent, on the Mossley Estate, in Bloxwich, was brought to a stop on Friday night when a man was reported to have died following an incident involving carbon monoxide.

The incident saw West Midlands Police and West Midlands Ambulance Service attend Cresswell Crescent at around 9.40pm on Friday (September 26) following concerns regarding the welfare of a man.

On arrival, they discovered a man aged in his 50s who was in a critical condition, and despite the efforts of medical staff, he was sadly confirmed dead at the scene.

West Midlands Ambulance Service said that nine people were treated for issues relating to carbon monoxide poisoning, with four people, all men, being taken to Walsall Manor Hospital 'as a precaution'.

West Midlands Police officers remain at the scene today, with a cordon remaining in place surrounding Timmys restaurant while the investigation continues.
