Man arrested after spate of arson attacks in Bilston
A man has been arrested after a series of fires in Bilston this weekend.
In the early hours of Saturday morning an arson attack on a Church Street pub was followed by seven vehicles being set on fire in nearby Shale Street.
a West Midlands Police spokesman said: "We've arrested a man in connection with a series of fires following swift work by officers in Wolverhampton on Saturday morning.
"We were alerted to a suspected arson attack on a pub in Church Street, Bilston, which caused damage to the front of the building at just before 4am."
The spokesman added: "'Shortly afterwards, seven vehicles caught fire in nearby Shale Street.
"Officers were quickly on the scene and detained a 41-year-old man in the area on suspicion of arson. He will questioned in due course."
