Stop and search powers extended in two areas of Wolverhampton after two men killed in shooting

Section 60 powers in two areas of Wolverhampton will continue tonight (Friday) and into Saturday morning after a shooting in which two men died.

West Midlands Police Police brought in the order last night (Thursday) from 6pm until 2am across parts of Whitmore Reans and Low Hill after the shooting  last Friday.

It will be in place again tonight from 6pm until 2am on Saturday, giving police the power to  stop and search people without the need to have reasonable grounds.

A police spokesman said: "As always, our main focus is on keeping everyone safe.

Duaine Mills was pronounced dead at the scene in Leicester Street, Wolverhampton following the fatal attack at around 3.10am and father of three Syed Zain Ali, passed away in hospital on Wednesday.

Police launched a manhunt after the shooting and have named a man they want to speak to in connection with the incident

Maneer Khan, who is also known as 'Manny', is known to have links to the Wolverhampton area, with officers saying that they have already made 'numerous attempts' to locate and arrest him.
